Westmoreland Man Arrested After High Speed Chase

Westmoreland, NY (WIBX) – A Westmoreland was arrested Sunday morning after a high-speed chase on Route 233.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year old Antonio Guerrero-Mendoza drove head-on at a marked Sheriff’s Patrol car, forcing the vehicle into a parking lot.
A chase ensued that reached speeds of 100 miles an hour.
Deputies say Mendoza forced two vehicles off Route 233 with his erratic driving.
He was finally taken into custody when he pulled into his driveway and tried to enter his home.
Mendoza was charged with reckless operation, aggravated DWI and other traffic charges.
A passenger in Mendoza’s vehicle was taken into custody and sent to the Oneida County jail without bail due to Immigration and Customs Enforcement violations.
