If you're going to feud with someone, try not to make it a trained mixed martial arts(MMA) fighter.

That's just what happened this New Year's when four men allegedly broke into the home of 27 year old MMA fighter Joe Torrez.

According to TMZ.com, after an ongoing argument between Torrez and four men with possible gang connections escalated on New Year's Eve, the men went to Torrez' home and forced their way in.

Torrez was inside at the time with his wife, son and another woman.

When the men mad their way into the house Torrez - and his training - were ready.

Police say someone in the house called 911 and when officers arrived, they found one of the intruders with blunt force trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds. That man died at the scene from his injuries.

Another of the men was taken to a hospital with "severe facial injuries."

The two remaining intruders were reportedly scared off by Torrez, and were caught a short time later. All three remaining suspects face a number of charges including aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.

Torrez may face charges in the death of one of the invaders, but has stopped talking due to legal proceedings.
