The Sauquoit Creek Basin Intermunicipal Commission says they are looking into the causes and possible solutions to the flooding that has hit the Whitesboro area recently. The commission is made up of municipalities, agencies and organizations that are located within the Sauquoit Creek Basin. Commission members are responsible for establishing flooding and storm water management activities in the basin.

Commission Chair Dave Glenn said they are looking at places where retention walls need to be repaired, and where to put new drainage basins, among other stabilization projects along the Sauquoit Creek Basin.

The purpose for the meeting was to inform Whitesboro residents about the existence of the commission and what they have planned to mitigate future flooding.
