The Whitesboro Central School District is teaming up with Meyda Lighting on a restoration project.

Meyda is restoring lighting fixtures in the Whitesboro Middle School Auditorium and converting them to LED lamping.

Six chandeliers and two sconces from the auditorium, which was built in 1936, have already been restored.

According to Kevin Storsberg, Director of Facilities for the Whitesboro Central School District, “The challenge was to retrofit the lighting fixtures with energy efficient components while maintaining the traditional historical aesthetic that fits the overall look of the middle school auditorium.”

The project is expected to save the school district over $75,000 in energy and maintenance costs over the next 20 years.
