Social media postings from the Whitney Point Mayor show what appears to be a second alligator enjoying the waters of the Tioughnioga River.

Many people had said the photos of the alligator recently captured by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation showed a significantly less mature reptile.  Now, video over the weekend has shown another animal in the Whitney Point area.

Residents in the area are told to notify the DEC at (607) 753-3095 if they see the tropical reptile.

The smaller gator has been re-homed at the Animal Adventure exotic animal park in Broome County.
