There is a chance the New York Mets could be buyers by the time the MLB non-waiver trader deadline passes on Thursday afternoon.

GM Sandy Alderson had indicated that the front-offices is willing to add or move players. depending on how the Mets looked in July - and while they seem to be stuck at 5-games under the .500 mark, they certainly have looked better.

Alderson also said earlier this week when asked if thought the Mets were going to make a trade, that it was unlikely.

As far as I'm concerned, that pretty much means he's close to a deal with someone.

But will it be to acquire a big bat, like a 'Tulo', or maybe another Rocky, Carlos Gonzalez? Or, will they end up dealing Bartolo Colon to a contender looking for a solid arm?

We'll know for sure in about 24 hours.
