Utica, NY (WIBX) - Although it might not be the desired result for anyone running for office, either incumbent congressman Richard Hanna or his opponent, Dan Lamb, will wake up on Wednesday empty handed.

Richard Hanna lost his bid for Congress in 2008 to Democrat Michael Arcuri, but beat him two years later. He says if he loses this year, he has no regrets.

"I love my wife and my two kids," Hanna said. "I will find things to do with them that I've always dreamed of. We'll sit down Wednesday morning, if I lose, and we'll come up with a list, and we'll be gone. We'll have fun. We'll do a little traveling, and I need to paint my garage. I've got lots of stuff to do."

Lamb, on the other hand, doesn't consider losing an option.

"Well, let's assume I win," Lamb said. "The next thing will be setting up a strong office, probably my biggest office right here in Utica, because this is the biggest population center and I think is where the biggest needs are. There are folks here who have just been ignored for too long, and they need a representative who's going to be a champion. So, I'm going to be looking to set up a very strong office with outreach-oriented staff."
