There is a reason they call it "punch drunk."  A Utica woman is now under arrest after she allegedly punched her mother, and her own children, in the face.

The incident took place before 8:00pm on Sunday, November 9th.  Officers were called to the parking lot of Utica City Court.  The 56-year old victim said that she had gone, with three of her grandchildren, to her daughter's home to pick up the daughter and one of her grandchildren.

The woman claimed that when she went to pick up her daughter, 29-year old Amanda Sprinkle, she was drunk.  The woman claims that Amanda told her children to go back outside and told her mother to get a bottle of liquor from a friend.  The victim, Sprinkle's mother, says that she then confronted Sprinkle about her issues with drinking.  The two then got into an argument and the victim says Sprinkle punched her on the side of the face.

Utica Police say the mother told them that Sprinkle then wanted to walk home but the children did not want to go with her.  Police say she then tried to take the children from the car forcibly.  During the struggle Sprinkle allegedly punched all four children.

Sprinkle was arrested and charged with four counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
