A Central New York woman is being accused of providing alcohol to a group of teens sleeping over at her house in November.

According to investigators, seven girls ranging in age from 13 to 15 years old were having a sleepover at the home of 45-year old Christine A. Troendle of Baldwinsville on Friday, November 14, 2014.  Authorities are alleging that Troendle gave alcoholic drinks to the children.

New York State Police say also that Troendle allegedly knew that marijuana and concentrated cannabis was being used by those at the sleepover.

Troendle was arrested and is being charged with the following:

  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child
  • Unlawfully Dealing with a Child (first degree)
  • Criminal Nuisance.
According to New York State Penal Code (Statute 260.20) a person may be charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree if he or she "...knowingly permits a child less than eighteen years old to enter or remain in or upon a place, premises or establishment where...activity involving controlled substances...or involving marihuana (sic)...is maintained or conducted, and he knows or has reason to know that such activity is being maintained or conducted."
Because it is alleged that Troendle provided the alcohol, and knew that the children were using pot, she is being charged with seven counts of each of the charges listed.
Because of the fact that the identities of the children involved are not being released because of their age it has not been officially stated whether any of the children present were Troendle's.

She was arraigned in the Town of Lysander Court and sent to the Onondaga County Jail on $5,000 cash / $5,000 secured bond.

Troopers say that the investigation is still active and are asking anyone with information on this particular incident or others that may have occurred at the home to contact them at: (315) 638.8200.
