Woman Arrested After Driving Wrong Way Down I-81

Lafayette, NY (WIBX) - A Baldwinsville woman is facing multiple charges after driving the wrong way down I-81.

Around 5-30 Christmas morning, 25-year-old Heather Fritzen was allegedly driving southbound in the northbound lanes. State Troopers, who received multiple calls from concerned motorists, used legal intervention to nudge her car off the road.

Both cars suffered minor damage, but no injuries were reported.

Fritzen was arrested and charged with DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Reckless driving, Unregistered Motor Vehicle and Driving the Wrong Way on a One Way Street.

She was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Preble Court.
