Woman Arrested For DWI After Driving Wrong Way On The Arterial

A Westmoreland woman is facing DWI charges after she was stopped for driving the wrong way on the Arterial.

According to New Hartford Police, Sheila Knapp, 56, was driving her car eastbound in the westbound lane of Route 840 near Commercial Drive.

Knapp then entered Route 8 while still going the wrong way.

Route 8 was closed at the time due to an accident and police managed to stop Knapp before she could hit any vehicles.

Knapp will answer charges next month in New Hartford court.
