A woman has been arrested for welfare fraud following an investigation by the Oneida County District Attorney's Office and the County Department of Social Services.

23-year old Stephanie Janes allegedly failed to notify the Social Services Department that she had moved out of state. Authorities say she then collected nearly $2,9000 in temporary assistance and food stamps she was not eligible to receive.

Janes is charged with grand larceny.
