Woman Hit By Car Facing Charges

Utica, NY (WIBX) - A car-pedestrian accident at the intersection of Whitesboro Street and Churchill Avenue in Utica not only landed a Utica woman in the hospital, but she's also facing drug charges.Utica Police say 60-year old Carmen Ramos was hit by a car as she was walking in the road late Saturday night.

Ramos was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with head, pelvic and collarbone injuries.

When she was approached by officers at the hospital, Ramos allegedly threw a bag to the floor which contained crack cocaine.

Ramos was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and pedestrian walking in the roadway.
