JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a woman is in critical condition in a western New York hospital after being set on fire by a man.

Police in the city of Jamestown say officers responded late Tuesday night to a report of a domestic dispute. Officials say when police arrived on the scene they found a 27-year-old woman suffering burns to her face, head and torso.

Authorities say a 37-year-old man had doused the woman with a flammable substance and set her on fire.

She was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a Buffalo hospital, where police say she's listed in critical condition.

Police haven't released details on the relationship between the victim and the suspect, who is jailed on assault charges.
