A woman is facing a drunk driving charge after a traffic incident on Wednesday.

According to a written release from New York State Police, 45-year-old Jody L. Garofalo from Clay, New York "...was observed traveling at a high rate of speed on Brewerton Road in the Town of Salina approaching the intersection of Richfield Boulevard when she struck several metal sign posts and coming to rest northbound in the southbound lane."

The alleged incident occurred at approximately 10:50pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

Garofalo has two prior DWI convictions, her last resulting in a license revocation which was still in effect during Wednesday's incident.  Because of that revocation, Garofalo is also facing a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree.

She was ticketed for the alleged vehicle and traffic violations and arrested for felony DWI.

Troopers have not released how it was determined that Garofalo was allegedly driving drunk.

Garofalo was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $10,000 cash/$10,000 bond and scheduled for her first court appearance to answer the charges in court on March 14, 2016.
