Woman Who Hit Train Ticketed
The Middleville woman who drove into the side of an Amtrak train in Verona has been charged.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 29-year old Shelby Schumacher was ticketed for driving through/around a railroad crossing gate.
Deputies say the passenger train was traveling about 70 to 75 miles an hour at the time of the collision.
Meanwhile, a witness to the accident, 31-year old Derrick Fowler of Vernon was also ticketed for the same violation.
The train had 182 passengers and four Amtrak employees on board.
No one was injured.
