WATERLOO, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a woman's body was pulled from the Erie Canal near where a vehicle was removed from a central New York section of the waterway.

State police say their divers found the body late Wednesday afternoon in the general area where an SUV was removed from the canal Monday night in the Seneca County town of Waterloo, in the Finger Lakes region.

Troopers say they'll release the woman's name the body is positively identified.

Authorities announced earlier this week that the SUV found by troopers and the Canandaigua Police Department was owned by Monica Zello, of Naples in neighboring Ontario County.

Troopers say she was last seen late on the night of Nov. 17 in Canandaigua. She was reported missing the next day.
