The Woodgate Fire Department has donated a retired fire vehicle to the Oneida County Origin and Cause Fire Investigation Team.

The Oneida County Department of Emergency Services had been looking for a multi-purpose vehicle for emergency responses.

The fire truck has only 9-,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition.  It was purchased with grant funding several years ago.

Woodgate Fire Chief, Anthony Sege says they first thought about trying to sell the truck, but when they heard the Origin and Cause Team needed a vehicle they decided to donate it instead.

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente said that the donation saved the taxpayers money and enables investigators and responders to help the public better than before. “Investigators on this vital volunteer team should have all the tools necessary to investigate fires.”

Officials say after some minor adjustments, the truck will be ready for service.
