Worcester, NY Man Arrested for Alleged DWI After Car Hits Bus on I-88
A Worcester, New York man is in police custody after allegedly hitting a bus on I-88 in Oneonta.
New York State Police say that 28-year-old Andrew C. Scheiner was arrested on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at approximately 11:01pm, after troopers had responded to a 911 call reporting that a car was being driven the wrong way, i.e. westbound, on the eastbound side of I-88. Before troopers arrived Scheiner, driving a 2004 Chevy Impala, allegedly hit the side of an eastbound bus near mile marker 59.
In a written release the NYSP states that investigators determined that Scheiner was intoxicated and had a suspended driver's license. In addition to being ticketed for several alleged vehicle and traffic violations, Scheiner was arrested on a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. of point-22 percent.
Following his arraignment Scheiner was sent to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 property bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on July 16, 2015 to answer the charges.
No one was injured in the accident with the bus.
