Word Of Life Church Closed Temporarily

The Word of Life Church in Chadwicks is closed, at least temporarily.

There's a sign posted on the building that restricts anyone from entering, using or occupying the church without the approval of law enforcement.

New Hartford Town Supervisor Pat Tyksinski says the court order from a State Supreme Court Judge will remain in place until the town's nuisance abatement proceeding is heard in court.

Brothers Lucas and Christopher Leonard was beaten inside the church during a counseling session in October. Lucas Leonard died of his injuries.

Nine Word of Life Church members, including the boys' parents Bruce and Deborah Leonard, have been charged in the case.
