Concord, MA (WIBX) - Concord, Massachusetts is the first city in the United States to ban the sale of single serving, PET water bottles one liter or less.

There are some exceptions, and the law does not apply in emergency situations, but the move is being done to reduce the amount of plastic in landfills.  Water filling stations are being placed in strategic areas, mostly at public areas and schools.  The state's attorney general initially opposed the ban, but reversed when town residents voted to approve the measure.
