The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team is in Central New York this week and will play a doubleheader against area law enforcement officers on Friday night at Murnane Field in Utica.

The WWAST is made up for 15 Army and Marine veterans who have lost limbs in combat, post-9/11.

Gates open Friday night at Murnane at 5:00, with opening ceremonies at 6:30. They'll place local law enforcement officers at 7:00, followed by a another game against soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division at 8:00 (games played rain or shine).

Tickets are $5, available at the gate. Money raised goes the WWAST and the Sitrin Healthcare Center's Military Rehabilitation Program, according to the WWAST.

In advance of Friday's game, local musician Donna Mucks joined WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning to share her military tribute song, 'For You and For Me':
