Wrong Way I-81 Driver Charged With DWI

A Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania woman is being charged with drunk driving and felony driving without a license after Broome County Sheriff’s officials say they received several 911 calls about a vehicle going the wrong way on Interstate 81 in the Towns of Dickinson and Kirkwood.

32-year-old Jennifer Kemmerer of Little Meadows was stopped as she was driving south in the northbound lane of the interstate at a slow speed, one mine south of exit one, shortly before 4 a-m Saturday.

Officials say Kemmerer’s blood alcohol content allegedly measured .18%, more than twice the legal limit.

Kemmerer was also charged with aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18% or higher, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a one way road and illegal u-turn.

She was ordered to appear in Town of Kirkwood Court at a later date.
