IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (AP) — A spin-off company of Xerox Corp. says it plans to move its call center from one Rochester suburb to another, adding several hundred jobs in the process.

Conduent Inc., the former business services division of Norwalk, Connecticut-based Xerox, says it will move the operations from Webster to a former retail store in a vacant mall in the neighboring town of Irondequoit (uh-RAHN'-duh-kwoyt).

The move into the former Macy's store at the Medley Centre mall will occur sometime in the fall. Four-hundred workers will make the move, while company officials say another 350 jobs will be added.

Renovation work at the new call center operations is expected to be completed by mid-August.

Flaum Management purchased the Macy's site nearly two years ago, after the retailer moved out.
