The Yankees' Brett Gardner is a bit banged up but appears to be okay following a full speed collision during Wednesday's win over the Rays.

Gardner was trying to beat out a comeback to the mound and was busting it down the line. A muffed throw by the Rays resulted in first baseman Rickie Weeks Jr. coming across the base path and inadvertently delivering a should to the chest of Gardner - who was in a full sprint and didn't have a chance to brace for the blow.

Both players left the game.

As the ball trickled away, Chase Headley scored the go-ahead run and the Yankees went on to win 8-4.

At the point, Gardner does not appear to be headed to the DL. However, it would expect the team will keep him out of the starting lineup until he's back to 100%.
