Yorkville Residents Vote Down Police Proposal

Yorkville, NY (WIBX) – Yorkville residents want to keep their police department.
A proposal to abolish the Village Police Department went down to defeat yesterday.
The vote was 538 “NO” and 100 “YES.”
Had the proposal passed, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office would have taken over police patrols in Yorkville.
