A driver in Yorkville allegedly failed to stop at a crosswalk and hit a pedestrian.  The man attempting to cross the street was the town's mayor, who suffered a dislocated shoulder and some back pain.

The accident happened on Main Street just after 7:00am on Thursday, December 5, 2013. Mayor Anthony Leone was taken to the hospital and is now recovering.

Fifty-year old Suzzanne Marineau of Driftwood Avenue in Ava, New York was ticketed.  She was attempting to turn left off of Main Street onto Oriskany Boulevard when the Oneida County Sheriff's Office says that she hit Leone.

Marineau is scheduled to appear in the Village of Yorkville Court at a later date to answer the charge.

Yorkville Police, New York Mills Police, and the Yorkville Fire Department helped deputies at the scene.
