Utica, NY (WIBX) - This evening, the YWCA of Mohawk Valley is launching the second of two domestic violence awareness rallies called, Take Back The Night. Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, will present a domestic violence awareness proclamation to kick off the event at 6:00 p.m. in Hanna Park in Utica.   Organizers say the rally will start with a march through Utica streets, followed by a speak-out session from those affected by domestic violence, and a candlelight vigil. In case of inclement weather, the group will move the rally inside City Hall.

Also, the YWCA, a non-profit organization charged with reducing incidents of discrimination, racism and empowering women, is hosting its Reclaiming Freedom Cocktail Reception this evening at 6:00, in the RCIL's Dorothy Smith Center for Advocacy, located on 1607 Genesee Street in Utica.
