Utica, NY (WIBX) - A new poll from Zogby International is showing a more positive response from likely voters. According to the report, President Obama's job approval rating went up one point to 44% however, 56% still say they disapprove of the president's performance. 

The poll also found increases in approval of Congress and the direction the country is headed. Also, 54% of likely voters rated Obama's State of the Union Address as "Excellent" -- while 20% called it "Fair" and 26% gave the speech a "Poor" rating.

The new report also found that 52% of likely voters say they are more confident the president understands the people's concerns after hearing his address to the nation. According to officials 2,065 likely voters were polled nationwide for these results.
