At Least One Dead in Town of Binghamton Crash

At least one person is dead following a single vehicle crash in the Town of Binghamton.

New York State Police say a car went into a tree on  Hawleyton Road between Milks and Saddlemire Roads at 3:10 a.m. August 27.

Two people were reported trapped in the vehicle.  The condition of the second person is not known.

Hawleyton Road in the area was shut down until further notice as State Police accident reconstruction teams work at the scene.

Authorities say responders were hampered by heavy fog and a medical helicopter was not able to fly due to the conditions.
