Bruce Leonard Enters Guilty Plea In Word Of Life Church Case

Just one day before his trial was set to begin, a defendant in the Word Of Life Church case has pleaded guilty.

Bruce Leonard was in Oneida County Court today, where he pleaded guilty to charges of first and second-degree assault.

Leonard is one of nine people charged in the beating death of his son Lucas Leonard and the assault of Christopher Leonard inside the Word of Life Church in Chadwicks last October.

Leonard's wife, Deborah Leonard, accepted a plea offer in December.

As part of the plea deal, Leonard must testify at the trails of the other defendants.

The trial for Sarah Ferguson is set to begin tomorrow before Judge Michael Dwyer.
