Cyclist Killed On Impact In High Speed Collision With Truck

ROYALTON, N.Y. (AP) — A motorcyclist has died following a high-speed collision with a pickup truck in upstate New York.

Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour says the accident occurred late Monday afternoon on a town of Royalton road. He tells WGRZ-TV (http://on.wgrz.com/2sfCH7Q ) that witnesses saw the motorcyclist traveling at high speeds before colliding with a pickup truck turning onto the road.

The motorcyclist died on impact. Police say the victim's name is not being released until family members are notified.

The two truck occupants were not injured in the crash, but Voutour says the truck has extensive damage.

Voutour says he believes speed was the primary factor in the crash.
