Utica, NY - Former Utica codes commissioner Stephen Patterson will spend 30 days in jail.

The Utica Observer Dispatch is reporting Patterson was sentenced Friday after being found guilty last month on two counts of operating an illegal cabaret at Pistol Pete's in East Utica.

The report says Patterson believes he was being targeted by police after filing a discrimination lawsuit against the department, and is pursing a second lawsuit in federal court.
