A driver trying to make an illegal U-turn on Route 49 in Marcy is being blamed for a four car crash that sent several people the hospital.

Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies say the driver at fault, 20-year-old Beverly Rodick of Utica, was the most seriously injured. Her vehicle was hit on the driver's side and overturned in the median. Rodick was last known to be in critical condition.

The accident involved a total of nine other drivers and passengers, several of whom had to be treated a local hospitals although it's believed none of their injuries are life threatening.

Rodick was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device and for unsafely changing lanes.
