Trenton, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says a homemade bomb was turned in to their Barneveld Office.

Deputies say the device was found by a resident walking on a trail in Trenton.

They say it appears someone left a 2-liter soda bottle filled with live ammunition on the trail.

The device had been lit and some of the ammo had exploded.

The Sheriff's Office is advising anyone who finds a suspicious device not to touch it and to notify police.

Anyone with information on the device found in Trenton is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 896-2985.
