Why Six Flags’ New 2025 Policy Will Change Your Park Experience In Queensbury
Six Flags Great Escape, 89 Six Flags Drive in Queensbury, is getting ready to splash into summer with water park fun at Hurricane Harbor plus all the family fun with Alice In Wonderland, kids rides, thrill rides like the Steamin' Demon, entertainment and more.
Six Flags Great Escape will open on Saturday May 17th from 11a-6p. The park will be open daily starting June 19th but before you go, there are changes you should know. Six Flags Great Escape has a new smoking policy in place for the 2025 season. Here are the latest rules.

According to a post on the Six Flag Great Escape Facebook page, the amusement park will implement a new smoking policy for the 2025 season. Here is some of what to expect this summer.
Smoking will not be permitted inside the park, including e-cigarettes' and vapes. A designated smoking area is located between the front entrance and metal detection. Six Flags prohibits smoking marijuana at any time, even in designated smoking areas.
The initial comments of the amusement park's Facebook page have mixed reviews of this new policy:
- As someone who's allergic to cigarette smoke, and has kids who are allergic as well - thank you! - AJ
- Park should be alcohol free then also - JL
- It is about time they did this - IP
- Ridiculous. There are plenty of spots in the park that are far away from kids and adults alike, that could keep designated smoking spots. - DD
- About time they went back to this! - HVJ
