A group in the North Country is attempting to convince the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to pull up railroad tracks that run from Remsen to Lake Placid.  Meanwhile, people in the Utica area and those close to the Adirondack Railroad are asking the DEC to not only keep the tracks, but allow them to be repaired so that the local train can travel all the way to the Lake Placid resorts.

Wednesday, September 25th, is the final day for public comment and those interested are urged to send their feelings directly to the State via email at NYStravelCorridor@DOT.NY.gov .
