Lupinski Named Boilermaker Volunteer Of The Year

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Director of Recycling at the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority has been named the 2011 Boilermaker "Volunteer of the Year."David Lupinski was recognized for his efforts at last night's volunteer party at the F-X Matt Brewery.

Lupinski began volunteering as the Boilermaker's waste disposal coordinator in 2005.

As a result, the race now collects more than six time the volume of recyclables than it did then.

Nearly 30 percent of all the waste produced at Boilermaker events was recycled this year.
