Man Arrested After New Year’s Day Domestic Dispute

A Sauquoit man has been arrested following a domestic dispute on New Year's Day.
State police say they arrested William Smith, 26, of Griffiths Place, after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife and stole more than a thousand dollars worth of property from her.

Smith also allegedly broke her cell phone so she couldn't call police.

He faces multiple charges in the Town of Paris Court including Grand Larceny, Menacing, Possession of a weapon, and Criminal Mischief.

Smith was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $5,000 bail.
