New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - A New Hartford man is behind bars, accused of running a heroin distribution ring.24-year old Ernest Lowenkopf was arrested following a two-year investigation by the Oneida County Drug Task Force.

Lowenkopf is facing several felony charges, including criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities say Lowenkopf distributed heroin from his home in New Hartford and from his mother's home in Waterviile.

Police seized over 200 bags of heroin valued at over $4,000 and $51,000 in cash, along with two handguns.

He's being held in the Oneida County jail without bail.

Four other men were also arrested as a result of the investigation.
