Oneida County Residents To Vote On Reducing Legislature
Utica, NY (WIBX) - Should the Oneida County Board of Legislators be downsized?
Oneida County residents will answer that question when they head to the polls on November 6th.
They'll be voting on a proposition to reduce the county Board of Legislators.
The board voted 15 to 13 earlier this year to trim the legislature by six members.
Originally, a vote was taken to reduce the number of districts from 29 to 19.
That vote ended in a tie.
If the proposition is approved by voters, the board would be cut from 29 to 23 districts.
The new districts would be redrawn based on 2010 Census figures.
