Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Makes Top Ten Arrest

You can cross another name off the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Top Ten Most Wanted List.

The Sheriff's Office had been searching for Eddie Hamell -- who was number four on the top ten list -- since May 2014.

They say Hamell has been hiding from police, traveling between Utica and the southern United States for two years.

He was arrested in Utica early Sunday morning after a resident in Cornhill saw a man in their backyard and called police.  Hamell was taken into custody after leading police on a short foot chase.

Hamell was wanted for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Eight fugitives on the Top Ten List have now been arrested since November 2014.
