Alex Ovechkin's power play goal with under eight minutes to play lifted the Washington Capitals to a series-tying, 3-2 victory over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.

Washington got through Henrik Lundqvist twice in the first period, with goals from Mike Knuble and Jason Chimera to take a 2-0 advantage. Brad Richards cut the deficit in the half later in the first with his fourth goal of the postseason.

Ryan Callahan tied it on the power play in the third.

Brian Boyle returned to action after suffering a concussion, with over 15-minutes of ice time.
