The 37th Annual Owego Strawberry Festival will be held this Friday and Saturday June 16 and 17.  Hosted by the Historic Owego Marketplace the festival gets underway at 5 PM Friday with live music and a block party. The weekend is organized and hosted by the Historic Owego Marketplace.  The Miss Strawberry Pageant begins at 5 PM.  At 5:30 the Strawberry Shortcake One Mile Run for Kids will be held.  The Strawberry Shake 5K Walk/Run is scheduled for a 630 start.  The night finishes with a fireworks display at 10 PM at Draper Park.

On Saturday morning shuttle bus service begins at 730 PM.  Parking is available at Hickories Park and Marvin Park. The Festival's parade begins at 10 AM.  There are expected to be as many as a couple of hundred businesses and vendors taking part in the festivities.  As always the feature of both days is the strawberry.  Strawberry shortcake, strawberry ice cream and much more made with strawberries will be available for the delight of those visiting.  The festival continues until 5 PM on Saturday.
