Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente announced today he is looking for an external audit of the Oneida County Board of Elections.

According to a letter written to Comptroller Joseph Timpano, Picente asked for "a full financial and compliance audit" for the group, but also for any people hired by the B-O-E part-time, including election inspectors, machine custodians, technicians and trainers.

Picente says the audit is an attempt at "ongoing due diligence of county spending."

In recent years, Picente and the Oneida County Board of Elections have been at odds, including a denied request by the County Executive for a plan of action from the B-O-E, regarding the special elections in September.
