Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica Mayor David Roefaro said he wants a full report from the Department of Public Works into the cleanup efforts following the recent snow storm. In a open letter to DPW Commissioner David Short, Roefaro said he's hearing from citizens that they are not happy with the conditions of their streets, and said he wants an explanation from Short. In an open letter to Commissioner Short Roefaro said, "I realize the strain this economy has placed in the department, but I am requesting a full report to be submitted to me by March 16."

The mayor says he wants answers to challenges or problems the department has encountered; The staffing levels throughout the storm's duration; Areas where a bottleneck might have occurred; Reasons why some streets were in better shape than others, and ideas on how best to utilize a snow emergency in the future. Roefaro says the goal is to improve DPW's cleanup efforts following a snow storm.
