This past weekend saw the Utica Comets earn a shootout victory on Friday night over the Albany Devils, but then fail to gain ground in the playoff chase as Utica dropped a pair of road games on Saturday and Sunday.
The Utica Comets saw their season come to an end on Thursday night, losing Game 4 of their opening round playoff series with the Albany Devils by a 6-3 final at the Utica Aud.
Alexandre Grenier pushed home a loose puck in front of the net for the game winner in overtime as the Utica Comets grabbed their first win of these playoffs, 2-1 over the Albany Devils, and in doing so kept their season alive for at least one more game.
