Sky-watchers get a double treat this weekend. In addition to a full, Harvest Moon that should appear very large since it will be the closest full moon of the year to the earth according to NASA lunar experts, there will be a total lunar eclipse as well.
Since 1995, scientists have confirmed the existence of more than 700 so-called exoplanets, but most of them have been massive. Now, though, they’ve found a new one — and it’s even smaller than Earth.
Amateur astronomers may want to dust off their telescopes, because a massive full moon — aka a “supermoon” — will arrive this weekend and it’ll be the year’s biggest.
