Best Gas prices

After enjoying steady prices at the pump, AAA predicts we will start paying a lot more to gas up our vehicles very soon.

People in the Mohawk Valley are always justifiably angry over the fact that we pay so much more for gasoline than our neighbors across Upstate New York. In Syracuse, there are gas stations selling regular unleaded gasoline for $2.87 a gallon. Why are their prices so cheap, as compared to ours? Furthermore, you can get gas for a lower price than what we pay at a New York State Thruway Rest Area. Still though, we're left to tolerate it as it doesn't seem like we're going to be seeing more affordable prices anytime soon. Therefore, we must grin and bear, and try to find the best prices we can find here in our own area.

Since October 28th when the new Ilion Stewart's Shop celebrated their grand reopening across from the Remington Arms plant, drivers have been enjoying gas prices that have actually fallen below $3 dollars a gallon. If you're keeping track, the savings in Ilion have been as much as $1 less per gallon than anywhere else in the state.

The Utica-Rome Mohawk Valley average gas price this Thanksgiving weekend is $3.84 for regular unleaded, according to AAA. However, there's one local gas station that's been busting the trend since their grand re-opening on October 28th.

Talk about sticker shock. Prices at the pump have skyrocketed across the country, including Central New York. So where can you find the best deal?
