BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting lake-effect storms this weekend for areas east of the Great Lakes, with two feet of snow or more possible in some areas.
UPDATE: A Lake Effect Snow Advisory has also been put into effect for Central and Southern Oneida County.
The National Weather Service has issued an extended Lake Effect Snow Warning for Northern Central New York. It will begin at midnight on Friday.
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Parts of upstate New York near lakes Erie and Ontario have already received nearly 2 feet of snow while forecasters say some areas could get up to 4 feet by the weekend.
If you're planning to travel north, you may want to change your plans. The National Weather Service says Oswego, Jefferson and Lewis counties could see several feet of Lake Effect snow and I-81 could even be shut down.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Some schools in upstate New York have cancelled classes for a second consecutive day, giving students an early start to their Thanksgiving break after lake-effect storms dumped more than three feet of snow in some areas.
